A fine thing!

Quite a lot has happened in Olde Bolhaar Eco Service GmbH since the company was founded in August 2012.

The processing volume has been increased from 80,000 t of green waste to approx 175,000 t per year. Premises at a size of 30,000 sqm in Zelhem (Netherlands) could be acquired, where part of the total annual volume is now processed.

At the moment, plans are also underway to enlarge the site in Gildehaus (Lower Saxony), where the current premises are to grow to 100,000 sqm.

"We are always looking for new markets and sales channels for our material. The flip-flow screen by Neuenhauser Umwelttechnik enables us to produce high-quality substrate composts and soils. The decision for this screen technology was a rather easy one after comprehensive tests.

In addition to the possibility of screening our materials at a grain size of less than 10 mm, the flow-flow with its screen surface of 7.5 sqm offers more than twice the power than a six-metre-long drum screen machine.

At the annual volumes that we process, we need not only high-quality end products, but also the highest possible hourly output of our machines," Olde Bolhaar (owner and managing director) reports.

"The possibility of changing the screen separation with little effort and just by replacing the screen mats gives us maximum flexibility in fine processing of our different materials. The often-described trampoline effect during screening loosens the material up well. We are able to screen even very moist material this way," Olde Bolhaar continues.

For the last few months, the company has also been treating 30,000 t of screen overflow per year from third-party and biowaste composting. Christiaan Olde Bolhaar invested into a stationary treatment plant specifically for this last year. The flip-flow screen is integrated into the treatment line of the screen overflows as a final screening step depending on contamination of the input material, to ensure that the many foreign bodies and interfering objects in the material are ejected in the end to produce good high-quality compost.

The machine is electrically powered by mains current in the basic version, or, as in this case, via a power generator. This gives the machine operators maximum flexibility in setting up the machine on the company premises. The screen box is equipped with 16 screen mats and has an effective screen surface of 7.5 sqm. There is always another screening machine installed upstream of the processing line at Olde Bolhaar, which feeds the screening material onto the infeed supply belt of the flip-flow screen.

"Whether star or drum: the flip-flow screen by Neuenhauser "gets along with" any upstream screening machines," says Christiaan Olde Bolhaar with a wink.

"The optional supply belt is a special feature in the new machine. This is necessary to transport material from any of our screening machines and the different output heights of their output conveyor belts into the flip-flow screen. This is very important for us here at the site in Gildehaus," Olde Bolhaar continues.

After the two star and drum screens, the semi-mobile flip-flow screen is now the fifth machine Olde Bolhaar Eco Service GmbH acquired from Neuenhauser Umwelttechnik since its founding.

Result:

The continually increasing quality demands of the end products, at concurrently increased interfering material loads of the input materials, pose additional challenges to many disposal companies. Stationary, fully or semi-mobile: the flip-flow screen by Neuenhauser is a good solution for fine processing of many different materials.

A good combination – the upstream type SuperScreener 2F star screen (2 fractions) and the semi-mobile flip-flow screen by Neuenhauser Umwelttechnik.

Flexibility to demand: The screen mats are available in many different hole sizes. They are easy to exchange. Square or oblong hole screen mats are used depending on application.

The machine is moved easily on the premises and put into position with a wheel loader.

Who wouldn't want to be independent? The optional power generator means that the machine is not dependent on mains current but can be used anywhere on the premises of currently 60,000 sqm.
